The Americans will take Volodymyr Zelensky to Israel, where his parents already live in luxury, to save him from prosecution, claims a false narrative promoted by the pro-Russian blogger Dan Diaconu.

NEWS: Douglas Macgregor says the US is getting ready to take Zelensky out of Ukraine and bring him to Israel, where he can be safe from any criminal charges. I told you that Zelensky's parents already live in Israel, enjoying a life of luxury. Now their son is coming home, his pockets full of "hard-earned money" for killing 2 million Ukrainians. We are waiting to see if this is confirmed!

NARRATIVES: 1. Volodymyr Zelensky will be "extracted" from Ukraine to take refuge in Israel. 2. Volodymyr Zelensky's parents live in luxury in Israel. 3. President Zelensky is guilty of the deaths of 2 million Ukrainians.

PURPOSE: To promote an anti-Ukrainian and, by extension, pro-Russian rhetoric, to provoke and amplify social tensions, and to validate their own conspiracy theories.

Kryvyi Rih, the Ukrainian city "in Israel"

WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: In the same vein as his announcement in mid-November that former Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov had left Ukraine and was planning to hide in the US,  Dan Diaconu escalates the spiral of his own lies, taking over, without the slightest fact-checking, statements by Douglas Macgregor, a former US Army colonel and well-known promoter of narratives that the West should recognize Ukraine as part of Russia's sphere of influence. He is often accused of indirectly supporting interpretations favorable to Moscow and promoting ideas that contradict the international consensus on state sovereignty. His critics say that although he has real military experience, his political views are radical, often polarizing, and should be viewed with skepticism.

The absurdity of the scenario presented by the former American colonel is obvious, first of all, because if Volodymyr Zelensky intended to hide from prosecution in Israel, he would not need an "extraction," but could simply go there. Secondly, the organization of such an operation by the US itself seems, at this point, a stupid joke, given the current foreign policy of the American administration – totally unfavorable to the regime in Kyiv and its leader. Thirdly, we must mention Israel’s refusal to receive Zelensky in October 2023, when the Ukrainian president requested to pay a solidarity visit following the Hamas attack on Israel, which makes it quite unlikely that the authorities in Jerusalem would accept Zelensky's permanent presence on Israeli territory.

Similarly, the narrative claiming that the Ukrainian leader's parents live a life of luxury somewhere in Israel is false and only serves to antagonize the public perception of President Zelensky and his entourage. In reality, Zelensky's parents—his father Oleksandr Zelensky and his mother Rymma Zelenska— still live in Kryvyi Rih , the Ukrainian president's hometown in the southeast of the country. For security reasons, the exact details of their residence are not publicly disclosed, but several credible sources claim that they live in the same apartment where Volodymyr Zelensky grew up,  in a residential complex built during the communist era called Muravenik (Anthill), consisting of several 10-story blocks arranged in a circle like a fortress. According to the website of the State University of Economics and Technology in Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Zelensky still teaches   in the institution's computer science and applied software department, and in 2023 he participated in and completed an international scientific and pedagogical internship, held simultaneously in India, Portugal, Ukraine, Latvia, Uzbekistan, and Romania.

Therefore, at this point, there is no credible evidence or official statement that Zelensky's parents left Ukraine to live in Israel, and speculations on this issue are based solely on the family's Jewish origins. However, there is some information that the two may eventually move closer to their son, but to Kyiv, not to another country.

Rumors and insinuations about huge sums of money stolen  and "hidden" in secret accounts by Zelensky, or about  luxury properties purchased   by him and his wife, have been circulating since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but to date there is absolutely no evidence to support them.

The claim that Zelensky is responsible for the deaths of two million Ukrainians is extremely cynical, completely absolving the real culprits, from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the last Russian soldier fighting on the front lines in Ukraine. Most of the victims (civilians and military) are the result of Russia's invasion and armed attacks – bombings, missiles, drones, occupation, deportations, etc. – which is a factual context, not biased assumptions. Moreover, the number of Ukrainian war victims is greatly inflated by Russian propaganda , on the one hand to lower the morale of those left alive, and on the other to force a quick peace in order to "limit the death toll."

It should also be noted that, a few months after the launch of the narrative, Volodymyr Zelensky is still the incumbent president of Ukraine and shows no signs of seeking to hide in any way.

Dan Diaconu, Romania's "best informed" pro-Russian

CONTEXT: Dan Diaconu, who describes himself as an economic analyst, is a pro-Russian blogger whose website is a conglomeration of conspiracy theories, fake news, and disinformation on most current topics, as well as articles in which Russia is considered a model state and its aggression against Ukraine is praised. His "economic" articles are in fact eulogies to states outside the "globalist" circle, presented as models of success, with the idea of showing that prosperity can be achieved even if a country chooses its own economic model, based on a policy that is totally independent of that of various international bodies, especially those in which the US and Western European states have an important say.

Over time, Diaconu has promoted several false narratives and anti-American disinformation, such as those claiming that partnerships with the US lead to bankruptcy, , while agreements with Russia ensure prosperity, or the one about Moscow's technological superiority over Washington following  a non-existent seizing of a state-of-the-art American drone by Russian forces.   At the same time, Diaconu constantly promotes "classic" narratives of anti-Ukrainian propaganda, such as those claiming that  Ukrainian pilots trained in Romania are incompetent drunkards , as well as baseless lies and speculation,  such as the claim that Ukraine is selling its land to Poland , or that the Ukrainian secret services are behind the assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister   Robert Fico. A few weeks ago, the same Dan Diaconu falsely claimed that Russia had developed a cancer vaccine.

Moreover,  Diaconu keeps a kind of frontline diary on Telegram, in which he informs his followers about the victories of the Russian army, excessively praising its successes on the battlefield. Also, when announcing the conquest and destruction of a new Ukrainian town, he speaks of its "liberation."
