An artificially induced water crisis will lead to the installation of a world government due to the failure of vaccination and the climate change hoax, conspiracy theorists say.

Water as a source of conspiracy

NEWS: Attempts to vaccinate every single human being on the planet have failed, and “climate change” is “too abstract” a concept for everyone to understand. Conversely, the impending water crisis is something everyone can relate to, according to the World Economic Forum contributor Mariana Mazzucato. In a speech in Davos, Mazzucato basically suggested that, after the WEF failed to control mankind with its narratives about the COVID scams and the climate change hoax, now it tries to focus on water as a means to impose its global governance agenda. A video recording of the WEF meeting in Davos last year, which did not get the proper media attention at the time although today it has gone viral, shows the WEF spokesperson, professor Mariana Mazzucato, condemning the way COVID and climate change failed to impose a world government, before suggesting that a water crisis will help concert efforts to install a world government on the planet.

NARRATIVE: The global cabal will trigger a water crisis as the final step to achieving total control of mankind by installing a world government.

BACKGROUND: The theory about global elites taking total control of mankind is not new. It has been constantly adapted, based on ongoing developments. At times, the narratives often contradict each other. Many of them have in recent years been fueled by Russian propaganda and amplified via social media and other media institutions that endorse conservative theories and support movements led by nationalists, sovereigntists, climate change denialists and anti-vaxxers. To better understand the popularity this Russian policy enjoys, it must be mentioned that during the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, 66% of Romanians believed conspiracy theories that promoted the link between the pandemic and the “global cabal”. Other related conspiracy theories spoke of controlling mankind by introducing the digital passport, preparing a never-ending pandemic or even enslaving mankind by introducing a universal basic income.

The theory about an artificial water crisis is not entirely new, in the context of challenges related to this resources, people claiming “it is excess or short supply or it is dirty and unsafe for use, already fueling food and health security in whole regions”. World Health Organization statistics shows that every 80 seconds, a child under the age of five dies due to illness caused by polluted waters, while hundreds of millions of children grow up with considerably diminished life expectancy rates. The unprecedented floods, droughts, cyclones and heatwaves of recent years have shown what the world will look like unless urgent action is taken.

Mariana Mazzucato is Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London, Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose (IIPP) and Chair of the World Health Organization’s Council on the Economics of Health for All. She is known for her theories that particularly target the role of public authorities in innovation and transposing economic mechanisms into national law.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an international non-governmental organization lobbying on behalf of multinational corporations, which claims that the world can best be governed in globalist terms by a coalition of multinational corporations, governments and organizations representing the civil society. The foundation is also a think tank that publishes a large array of reports in a number of fields of activity, such as finance, healthcare or environment protection. However, regardless of the ideas and aspirations of WEF member states, their recommendations are strictly consultative. Contrary to the “warnings” of conspiracy mongers, these recommendations are not mandatory. The “Great Reset” suggested by the WEF president is merely an economic recovery plan launched in June 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its goal is reconstruction following the global health crisis, in a way that puts sustainable development at the top of the priority list. Meanwhile, the plan has been adjusted to also include measures designed to support economic activities that have been strongly impacted by the war in Ukraine.

PURPOSE: To undermine societal trust in the authorities, to validate conspiracy theories, to provoke and amplify social unrest and demonize the West.

The conspiracy theory revolving around a bad translation

WHY THE ANRRATIVE IS FALSE: The May 2022 annual meeting of the WEF occasioned the launch of the Global Commission on the Economics of Water, an organization under the high patronage of the government of the Netherlands and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, co-chaired by Mariana Mazzucato.  The Commission’s activity spans over a period of two years and focuses on three pillars: analysis, social dialogue and the elaboration of an action plan. The press conference organized after the official launch of the Commission does not make any reference to the WEF or any hypothetical world government, but merely outlines the reasons for its creation. The references to the failures of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign or the awareness raising campaigns focusing on the effects of climate change are specifically designed to highlight how extremely important it is that mankind understands the threat generated by water shortage, and at the same time to express hope that, when talking about water, people will look beyond secretive conspiracy theories.

In March 2023, the three co-chairs of the Commission published an article describing the Commission’s first year of activity and drawing specific conclusions. From the very outset, the article presents the following argument: “To safeguard this most fundamental natural resource, we urgently need a new, global strategy to govern water for the common good”. Going back to the source of this fake news, one can easily observe we are actually dealing with an extremely biased translation of a deliberately mistranslated text, which under no circumstances refers to a world government or a centralized leadership of the entire planet. At the end of the article, the Commission co-chairs clearly underscore the need for multilateralism, which is a trade policy stipulating that every country must balance its trade relations with other countries, which is virtually the dream of every sovereigntist: “We also must use multilateralism to develop skills and capacity globally, and to protect the farmers, women, indigenous peoples, and consumers who are at the frontlines of water conservation”.
