With NATO's complicity, Klaus Iohannis has established a dictatorship and will start a war on Romanian territory, according to sovereigntist MP Daniel Ghiţă.
NEWS: On December 21, 2024 Iohannis has convened Parliament to sow fear and declare a state of emergency in Romania, just like in Moldova!
All so that he can illegally stay in office for another six months.
A dictatorship has been established in Romania, where state institutions are captured by Soros’ acolytes: we are practically witnessing some serious abuses – high treason against the Romanian people.
Why do we have to give up our airspace to foreign command? Does NATO want to start a war on Romania’s territory? Will we receive missiles from Ukraine on Romanian territory, like the case of Poland? Who wants to force us into a war?
It's the saddest Christmas since 1989!! Dictatorship, the people freely electing their president, censorship and many abuses!
Nihil Sine Deo
NARRATIVES: 1. Under NATO pressure, Iohannis established a dictatorship and will drag Romania into the war. 2. Romania will relinquish command of the national army to foreign forces.
Iohannis has convened the new Parliament for purely procedural reasons
WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: The convening of the newly elected Parliament by the incumbent president is strictly a matter of procedure, in accordance with Art. 63, paragraph 3 in the Romanian Constitution and Art. 2, paragraph 1 in the Regulation of the joint activity of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, which stipulate that, “after the election of a new Parliament, it convenes at the Romanian President’s request within 20 days at most from the election”. Since this year's parliamentary election took place on December 1, the date of December 20 (not 21, as MP Ghiţă claims), when the new Parliament is expected to convene, observe legal procedures. Officially, President Iohannis' regular mandate ends on December 21, so from a legal point of view, the action is as normal and compliant as possible.
Despite the alarmist statements of the former member of PSD, the agenda of the first meeting of the new Parliament only includes the establishment of parliamentary groups, the election of the speakers of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies and other members of their permanent bureaus, as well as the establishment of permanent committees.
Moreover, no communication channel of the Romanian Presidency, official or otherwise, has referred to the launch of any legislative project to establish a state of emergency on Romania’s territory. In addition, the comparison with the Republic of Moldova is deliberate and provocative, and this very association may induce the fear that Ghiță is talking about. A few days ago, the Moldovan Parliament voted in favor of imposing a state of emergency at national level for 60 days, starting December 16, as a result of Russia possibly interrupting gas supplies starting January 1, 2025. The decision of the Moldovan Parliament, however, only provides the government with broader instruments for managing a possible energy crisis, without infringing in any way on the rights and liberties of citizens or the functioning of the country's democratic institutions.
As for president Iohannis establishing a dictatorship, again, we are dealing with a false narrative. The extension of the current president's mandate takes place within a legal framework, regulated by the Constitution and stipulated as clearly as possible in the motivation for the annulment of the presidential election by the Constitutional Court: “Taking into account the complexity and duration of the electoral operations necessary after the decision is made public, the Court notes that Art. 83 paragraph (2) of the Constitution thus applies, according to which the incumbent President of Romania exercises the mandate until the newly elected President is sworn in.”
Romania will never relinquish command of its military
Likewise, the claim about Romania being expected to concede its airspace and relinquish command of the army to foreign forces is just a naive interpretation of two draft laws, recently approved by the Romanian Parliament. By means of the two laws, the Ministry of National Defense sought to “fill the legislative gap” regarding the use and collaboration with foreign armed forces deployed to Romania, in order to counter specific threats, and separately, to regulate the conduct of military operations on national territory, when a state of emergency, siege or war is not in effect, in the context in which several fragments of Russian drones crashed in Romania, amid Russia's attacks on Ukrainian ports on the Danube. Proof of his misunderstanding and ignorance of the draft laws debated in Parliament, MP Daniel Ghiţă says Romania will concede its airspace to foreign command, when in fact, airspace sovereignty was not at all called into question, and the operational transfer to external command does not involve the entire Romanian Army, but only those forces designated to participate in the mission or operation under foreign command. The exercise of command by an officer, whether Romanian or foreign, does not in any way imply the surrender of sovereignty to any of the countries whose troops take part in the mission or operation in question.
Moreover, under the pretense of asking rhetorical questions, Ghiță once again proves his poor knowledge of reality, when he states that Poland was intentionally targeted by Russian missile fire, when in fact, Poland and NATO itself stated that the missile that hit Polish territory in November 2022 was a stray missile, launched by Ukraine's air defenses and not a deliberate Russian attack. Similarly, the question "Who wants to force us into war?" only shows the deeply flawed logic of the former kickboxer, who earlier wondered “Does NATO want to start a war on Romanian territory?” The suggestion is, obviously, blatantly false, as neither Romania nor the North Atlantic Treaty Organization wants to be involved in a war. Rather, their actions consist only in consolidating the deterrence and defense posture on the eastern flank. Moreover, the narrative is heavily circulated by Kremlin propaganda, with the aim of justifying the statements that hold the West responsible for the war in Ukraine.
Incidentally and ironically, Daniel Ghiţă ends his post by condemning the decision to prohibit Romanians from choosing their leader, invoking the motto of the Royal House of Romania (Nihil Sine Deo – Nothing without God), forgetting that the king was not elected by the people either.
The Romanian patriot who barely knows the language
BACKGROUND: Sovereigntist discourse with extremist overtones, often borrowing themes from Russian propaganda, has seen a significant surge recently, especially in the context of the election campaign for the parliamentary election and the recently canceled presidential election. The election was referenced not just by parties and candidates of the far right, which have endorsed them for several years, but also by certain politicians who officially support Romania's membership in Euro-Atlantic structures.
A former member of PSD, the party from which he resigned two months ago, Daniel Ghiţă is, at least officially, promoting Romania’s NATO membership. However, throughout his mandate as a deputy, his statements often echoed ideas promoted by the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians. Moreover, emulating his nationalist parliamentary colleagues, Ghiţă was also involved in scandals and physical confrontations in the plenary session of Parliament, sometimes even from the same camp. His presence in Parliament has been a constant source of controversy. In his resume published on the website of the Chamber of Deputies, Daniel Ghiţă claims to have been a world kickboxing champion, when in fact, he lost the final to Rico Verhoeven of the Netherlands, in a match held in June 2014. Also in his resume, Ghiţă noted that he knows how to copy data from a PC to a CD or flash drive, that he has worked as a security service guard ever since graduating high school, and that he can teach gym class in “schools (!!), colleges and high schools”.
Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the former PSD deputy has displayed a pro-Russian stance, promoting several narratives that accused Kyiv and the West of starting the war and persecuting ethnic Romanians in Northern Bukovina. In October 2023, during Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Bucharest, he launched an extremely virulent attack on the Ukrainian president. “They are struggling (all of them!) to roll out the red carpet for someone who is forcibly taking Romanians from Hertza and Bukovina to war, while their Ukrainians are partying around Romania, spending their wealth and driving luxury cars around Pipera. Mr. Zelenskyy, why are you mocking Romanians in Ukraine and Romania? Why don't you respect us as a nation? Do you think us inferior?", Ghiță wrote on Facebook.
Daniel Ghiţă entered Parliament as a representative of PSD for Ilfov County. At the time, the party’s local organization was led by Florentin Pandele and Gabriela Firea. In fact, Ghiţă very categorically defended the former mayor of Bucharest in the scandal of the abusive asylums in Voluntari, where her husband was the mayor. With regard to Pandele, Ghiță said it was him who talked him into entering politics. In fact, despite the argument that his resignation from PSD was determined by the deep corruption of the governing bodies of Romanian sports, in fact it was the result of his removal from the lists of candidates for the new Parliament. In addition, despite the patriotism he proclaims on almost every occasion, his posts on social media are ridden with serious grammar and communication errors, which confirms not only the functional illiteracy of the former ring fighter, but also his poor mastery of the Romanian language, which he swears to defend with his life.
PURPOSE: To undermine societal trust in the authorities, to endorse sovereigntist and anti-Western rhetoric, to validate self-promoted extremist and ultra-nationalist theories, to stir and amplify social unrest.
