The EU will finance the slaughter of Russians by the Ukrainians even if the US no longer supports Kiev in the future, according to pro-Kremlin propaganda.
Propaganda: The EU will finance Ukraine's war against Russia to the last Ukrainian, and as a result Ukraine as a state will disappear
NEWS: It is hard to say exactly how Ukraine managed to reach the age of Jesus Christ on August 24, 2024, but the path to Golgotha is now open. At the international conference “Quo vadis, Europe”, Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated that the European Union has become part of the conflict in Ukraine [...] “We are part of this game. We are not part of the war, but we are part of the conflict, because our peace and security depend on how it is resolved”, the diplomat said.
And these words mean that the EU is ready to support the war in Ukraine as long as it is necessary. And it will do so despite the fact that the United States, the main power and supporter of the war, may refuse to fully or partially sponsor Ukraine’s onslaught against Russia.
The EU will take on the financial burden and support the armed battles. It is an endless war against Russia, down to the last Ukrainian, to defend the West’s interests […] Borrell's statement means the war will continue and Ukrainians will die.
NARRATIVES: 1. The West is funding Ukraine's war against Russia. 2. The EU is willing to fight against Russia to the last Ukrainian.
PURPOSE: To justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine. To amplify war fatigue in Ukrainian society. To reinforce the West’s image as an external enemy of the Russian Federation.
Fact: The EU is supporting Ukraine's defense efforts and saving lives
WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: In fact, the West (the EU, the USA) is not funding any war fought by Ukraine against Russia or the Russian people. Western states have been providing Kyiv with financial, military and humanitarian assistance starting February 24, 2022, helping Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s large-scale military aggression. The West's interest is to defend Ukraine and support its fight for the norms of international law, which have been violated by Putin's war against the free world. Russian propaganda presents the victim (Ukraine) as the West’s tool in the fight against Russia, with the aim of exonerating the Russian military and political leadership. Therefore, the West is helping Ukraine fend off the Russian invasion.
The aim of the EU is not to destroy the Ukrainian nation and Ukrainian statehood through war. On the contrary, since the start of Russia's war of aggression, the EU and its Member States have provided over 111 billion Euro in support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. A European financial mechanism in the form of grants and loans was created to support the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine for the 2024-2027 period. The decision to establish the Ukraine Facility Plan came into force on March 1, 2024. As much as 32 billion Euro have been disbursed to support the reforms and investments foreseen in the Ukraine Facility Plan. Other payments will be unlocked pending Ukraine’s compliance with specific criteria.
EU leaders have called for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Moscow's troops from Ukrainian territory since the first days of the war. In autumn 2022, the EU rejected and condemned Russia's illegal annexation of four Ukrainian regions (Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia) in a statement accusing Moscow of putting “global security at risk”.
BACKGROUND: The statement made by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell one the sidelines of an international conference were quoted correctly, but taken out of context to deliberately mislead public opinion. The EU High Representative did not mention any onslaught of Ukraine against Russia or the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. On the contrary, he spoke about the protection of civilians and the EU's support for saving human lives. The false narrative was also given religious overtones with no real connection to Borrell's statement, namely, that Ukraine celebrated 33 years of independence, coinciding with the age of Jesus Christ when he was crucified on Golgotha.
