mRNA vaccines destroy brain cells, irreversibly altering people's thinking, according to a conspiracy doctor affiliated with the German far right.
NEWS: Are you increasingly shocked by the behavior and thinking of those around you, including those close to you? Do they seem changed to you, as if they were replaced by doppelgangers? You’re not imagining it. Here's the explanation. A world-renowned microbiologist has issued a terrifying warning about the unprecedented harmful effects that the Covid messenger RNA “vaccines” have on the brains of people who have taken the jab.
Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi claims that the issues he has identified in “vaccinated” people are so serious, that there are “billions of people” whose brains have been “destroyed” by the mRNA shots. Moreover, the famous microbiology professor, the recipient of countless international awards, claims that, by administering the experimental jab, people have been “altered”, and the process is irreversible.
NARRATIVE: mRNA vaccines have irreversibly destroyed the brains of those vaccinated, changing their way of thinking.
PURPOSE: To promote conspiracy rhetoric, to undermine trust in the healthcare system and, by extension, in state authorities, to stir and amplify social unrest, to validate previously promoted conspiracy theories.
A theory unbacked by science
WHY THE NARRATIVE IS FALSE: The theory of German-Thai doctor Sucharit Bhakdi, presented by Romanian anti-vaccine activists as scientific fact, deliberately ignores the clinical, biological and epidemiological evidence collected over the past four years. More seriously, it fuels a disinformation campaign with direct consequences for public health.
Bhakdi's key claim is that the messenger RNA in the vaccine enters the brain, where it causes cells to produce the Spike protein, which would lead to an autoimmune attack and the “destruction of brain tissue”. The hypothesis is not confirmed by any major peer-reviewed publication. According to the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mRNA vaccines do not enter the cell nucleus, so they cannot modify human DNA. Moreover, as they are administered intramuscularly, they have extremely limited systemic distribution. Pharmacokinetic studies show that, although trace amounts of mRNA can reach other tissues, they rapidly degrade and are eliminated from the body through natural RNA degradation systems. In addition, numerous studies have shown that mRNA vaccines do not cross the blood-brain barrier, the natural structure that protects the brain against foreign substances.
Bhakdi claims, obviously mistakenly, that mRNA vaccines have triggered a global neurological crisis, a hypothesis contradicted by official data and clinical trials, which show that serious neurological adverse reactions (e.g., encephalitis, cerebral thrombosis) are very rare, with an incidence of less than 1 in 100,000 doses. Similarly, no abnormal increase in neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer's, Parkinson's) has been observed among vaccinated people, and most reported neurological symptoms (e.g., headaches, fatigue, dizziness) are mild and transient, and occur as side-effects to many other vaccines. Serious adverse reactions, such as myocarditis or Guillain-Barré syndrome, are rare and carefully monitored and managed by medical authorities.
The controversial doctor also claims that the Spike protein produced after vaccination is “poisonous”. This argument, however, mistakes the behavior of the viral protein in the actual infection with that of the protein temporarily produced by the vaccine. According to researchers, the Spike version in vaccines is modified to remain in a stable form and does not trigger the pathogenic effects observed in severe COVID-19 infections.
Overall, Bhakdi’s “studies” are considered alarmist and unfounded and are dismissed by leading peer-reviewed journals. They are promoted on alternative, conspiracy channels, and are often taken out of context and violate the principles of caution and medical responsibility.
With regard to the present article, the claim that Sucharit Bhakdi “was heard in the German Parliament, on which occasion he stated, among other things, that they (mRNA vaccines) pose a “threat to human livelihood”, is false. Bhakdi did indeed give a speech in the Bundestag, but not in the context of an official parliamentary hearing, but as a keynote speaker in the so-called “Corona-Symposium” organized by the far-right AfD (Alternative for Germany) party. In the event held on November 11-12, 2023, Bhakdi was presented as a “keynote speaker”, giving a speech of approximately 38 minutes entitled “WHO: after the global vaccination tragedy, the global vaccine regime? Effects and dangers of mRNA vaccines”. The beginning and end of the speech were emotional for those present, Bhakdi being “rewarded” with full minutes of applause and standing ovation.
Bhakdi – a notorious anti-vaxxer and liar, also known for his anti-Semitic remarks
BACKGROUND: The false narratives regarding the effectiveness and effects of vaccination have been circulating for several years, but have become much more visible with the advent of anti-Covid vaccines. At a time when public trust in science is already waning, the alarmist statements of a few isolated voices still manage to produce noise and confusion. These theories are promoted by various publications or figures from the ultra-religious conservative area, but they are also taken up and exploited by politicians for electoral purposes, or people known for their close ties with Russia and its foreign policy, by means of which the latter seeks to destabilize Western societies.
Several conservative publications redistribute these false narratives and seek to validate their anti-vaccine theories through pseudo-experts, anonymous websites or by falsely citing various studies, events or personalities from outside the medical world.
The article in question actually borrows information from a piece published by Slay News, a publication known for promoting almost exclusively fake news and disinformation. Launched in 2021, the website claims to promote “freedom of expression” and “put people before corporate interests or political agendas”. Its owners are anonymous, and its funding sources are unknown. According to Media Bias, Slay News does not produce original journalism, but rather summarizes, adds commentaries or plagiarizes the news content of others without mentioning the original source. In editorial terms, all of their “news” favors the conservative right and often promotes conspiracy theories and pseudoscience.
Thai-born German doctor Sucharit Bhakdi has become a prominent voice during the pandemic, harshly criticizing restrictions, PCR testing, mask-wearing and vaccination campaigns, supporting controversial narratives such as the pandemic being “a hoax” and vaccines being “too dangerous”. In 2020, his YouTube account was banned for violating disinformation policies. Later, together with his wife, Bhakdi released a book titled “Corona, false alarm?”. The University of Mainz, where he headed the Institute of Microbiology and Medical Hygiene, distanced itself from Bhakdi’s views, especially after Bhakdi appeared in an online video where he made several anti-Semitic remarks, and was even accused of incitement to hatred, after making several comparisons between the measures taken by the authorities to limit the Covid-19 pandemic and the Holocaust. He was ultimately acquitted, but he could still face the withdrawal of his PhD title. Over the years, fact-checking organizations, such as USA Today, have debunked countless claims the doctor made regarding vaccines.
