The Court of Justice of the EU ruled in favor of Hungary in its dispute with the European Commission over its refusal to grant asylum to migrants, according to sovereignist propaganda.
NEWS: While we hunt drones and catch flies even in the off-season, this week the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled in favor of Hungary in its dispute with the European Commission over Hungary's refusal to grant asylum to migrants.
Godină, I hope you are paying attention, because this is of utmost interest to you. The European Commission had fined Hungary €200 million through the court, an amount that increased by €1 million daily, for its refusal to accept and offer work and asylum rights to migrants. Well, the verdict, which is in Hungary's favor, says that it is Hungary's "sovereign" right to refuse "migrants," and that this right was not ceded to Brussels by Hungary's signing of the treaty of accession to the European Union.
The CJEU decision opens Pandora's box. Hungary, but also the other European countries, say experts, have the right to refuse even the migrant quotas that are to come into force next year, following a plan established by the European Commission. Poland, Slovakia, and even Croatia have already welcomed the Court's decision.
Here, apart from Radio Romania, which gave a sketchy report on the news at around 6 a.m., the rest of the press was not interested, as it spoils the European narrative, even more than the Russian drones that were actually Ukrainian.
NARRATIVE: Hungary has won the lawsuit brought by the European Commission regarding the Budapest government's anti-immigration policy.
PURPOSE: To promote sovereignist propaganda, undermine trust in the European Union, provoke and amplify tensions and anti-establishment social movements.
The non-existent trial, in a non-existent news story
WHY THE NARRATIVE IS FALSE: Although this information is placed at the end of the post, we will begin our demonstration by showing that the "news" referred to was not broadcast on Radio Romania, and we say this as news editors for the national radio station. Furthermore, even after searching through the news archives of other radio stations, we were unable to find any mention of a decision favorable to Hungary being made by the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Given that the post in question refers to a decision handed down "this week" and that the date of the post is Sunday, September 21, we initially searched for all decisions handed down by the Court of Justice of the European Union during the week of September 15-21, 2025. The search did not return any results for cases involving Hungary, and extending the search to the entire year 2025 indicated that there were three cases pending between the European Commission and the Hungarian state, none of which, however, had yet been resolved. Furthermore, no public information is available on the specific subject matter of the cases, as the proceedings are ongoing and, according to custom, no details are published while the cases are being heard. However, there are several indications that the three cases may be the lawsuit filed by the EU executive regarding the release from prison of thousands of migrant smugglers convicted in Hungary, the dispute initiated by the Hungarian government with the Council of the European Union on the European Peace Fund, in which Budapest challenges the European financial support for Ukraine, or the cancellation of state aid that Hungary granted to a Russian company for the expansion of a nuclear power plant.
The only recent information related to the penalties of one million euros per day imposed on Hungary following a lawsuit filed by the European Commission with the CJEU are the statements of a Hungarian government official, who said in June that Budapest would file a lawsuit against the Court of Justice of the EU with the help of an international law firm, without even specifying which court it would be brought before. To date, there is no information to suggest that such a lawsuit has been filed.
Moreover, the CJEU ruling of June 2024, which ordered Hungary to pay a fine of €200 million and a penalty of €1 million per day until it complies with EU asylum legislation, has become final and enforceable, in the absence of an appeal and after all legal procedures have been exhausted. In this regard, contrary to the sovereignist lie that "it is Hungary's sovereign right to refuse migrants," the EU Court of Justice has described the Hungarian government's behavior as an "unprecedented and extremely serious" violation of European Union law. It should also be noted that the penalty was imposed following Hungary's repeated refusal to pay the initial fine of €200 million. Ultimately, the European Commission activated the compensation procedure, deducting the amount from the EU funds allocated to the country.
In conclusion, at this point, Hungary is obliged to pay the fine and take measures to comply with the European asylum legislation. To date, there has been no case in which the CJEU has ruled in Hungary's favor on migration issues. All recent decisions of the Court indicate additional obligations for Hungary to comply with European legislation, to amend practices and laws, plus financial penalties if it fails to comply.
Problems, Mr. Gogu?
CONTEXT: The sovereignist discourse continues to adapt to new realities, constantly contradicting the propagandists’ alarming predictions. Since Romania did not cancel the 2025 presidential elections, nor did it enter into war on September 3, NATO troops are not massed on the border with the Republic of Moldova, nor have they landed in the port of Odesa, and the European Union has not confiscated the population's savings to finance a possible aggression against Russia, the Romanian "patriots" are forced to invent new narratives to keep their audience captive.
From liberal democracy to patriotism
Today's fake news provider is Ştefan Silviu Molnar, through his digital alias, Gogu Orlando. A history graduate, journalist, and, more recently, writer, Molnar is also active in politics, with a career that seems to be marked more by lucrative interests of the moment than by any political ideology. In 2005, he held the position of spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, led by PDL member Gheorghe Flutur. His name appears in this position in a catalog compiled by the Ministry of European Integration, which brought together credible sources of information about the European Union in one place. Sometime around 2009, Molnar discovered his "inner patriot" and joined the Greater Romania Party (PRM), the party of one of Romania's most toxic politicians, Corneliu Vadim Tudor. He ran unsuccessfully in the 2009 European Parliament elections on behalf of the party, but was hired as an accredited assistant to the "Tribune," who had been elected as a Member of the European Parliament. In this context, he was involved in a scandal related to the embezzlement of the European Union budget when, although he had an employment contract with the European Parliament, he also signed an individual employment contract with Vadim Tudor, this time as his local assistant. The accumulation of salaries by assistant Molnar and the complaint of another assistant to the PRM president led to him being investigated by the European Parliament's Directorate-General for Finance.
In 2012, Silviu Molnar attempted to become a member of the Romanian Parliament representing the diaspora, but once again, the electorate did not appreciate his political value.
Gogu, the Social Democratic “Sorosist”
Subsequently, Gogu Orlando/Molnar changed his ideology and became the assistant to another MEP, member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Claudiu Ciprian Tănăsescu. From this position, he emerged as a fierce defender of social democracy, but above all as a propagandist for the European Union, a true “Sorosist”, according to today's definition of the term. In 2018, Silviu Molnar was the leading speaker at the "You are Romanian, you are European" conferences, which aimed to "draw young people's attention to the European Union," talking about "the need for the existence of the high continental forum and, last but not least, the advantages of being a European citizen." In the most "Sorosist" and "sexo-Marxist" way possible, his speeches often ended with the conclusion that "the European Union means cohesion, non-discrimination, and a form of political organization where citizens' rights come first. The European Union is the political construct of the moment that can ensure a future for its citizens. Together we can successfully face the challenges of the 21st century!"
Furthermore, in 2016, in the purest European spirit, he expressed his outrage at a meeting of "European extremists" organized in Romania. On April 20, he proudly shared a press article denouncing the emergence of "a new anti-Western and extremist party in Romania, under the leadership of European extremists led by the famous Marine Le Pen." In the distributed material, the French politician was described as the leader of the extremist, anti-American, and anti-EU movement. Furthermore, on his personal blog, Gogu Molnar accused Marine Le Pen of "contributing to the establishment of a Legionary-oriented political party in Romania."
The return to patriotism
During the Covid pandemic, he unequivocally positioned himself in the camp of those contesting health prevention measures and, obviously, against vaccination, still timidly accusing the European "Nazism." Mr. Gogu's anti-European attitude has become increasingly evident with the meteoric rise of the "sovereignist" movement after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Molnar has begun to distribute most of the Russian narratives related to the war, the EU, NATO, or the United States, spiced with his own comments such as "The brave man of the planet, the mighty Zeky, is trying to drag the Republic of Moldova into war against Russia," "What independence? What sovereignty? Up yours, EU!", "The Romanian government goes to the Sublime Porte in Brussels and asks permission from the sultans of the West", etc.
We do not know exactly when Molnar's political reorientation took place, but in June 2022 he was elected secretary general of the Christian Democratic Peasant Party (PNŢCD), rebranded as the "Party of National Sovereignty," a position he theoretically still holds today, according to the party's official website. However, last year, Gogu ran again unsuccessfully for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies on behalf of the Independent Social Democratic Party, a bizarre clone of the PSD. Today, riding the wave of sovereignty to monetize traffic, Silviu Molnar continues to post lies inspired by Moscow's propaganda, but most of the time he invents them himself, seasoning them with the vilest insults directed at the current leadership of the country and those who did not vote for the pro-Russian Călin Georgescu or his "protégé," George Simion.
Basically, Molnar is part of a larger group of so-called patriots who "defend their country with their bare chests," but yesterday they were part of the system that today they declare guilty of all the evils of the world, characters who accuse globalist "censorship" but take full advantage of freedom of expression, which they use to insult and spread lies in the public sphere. For these people, patriotism is nothing more than a part they play for money.
