Ukraine is being pushed by the US towards war, and the Americans want to deploy in that country missiles targeting Russia, according to narratives promoted by the main Russian TV channel. It also claims that the fate of Ukraine will be decided by negotiations between the great powers.
The US is preparing Ukraine for war, while Ukraine’s fate is being decided in its absence, in Washington and Moscow, the Kremlin said through the main Russian TV station, during the talks between the Russian and French presidents, Putin and Macron, and the US and German leaders, Biden and Olaf Scholz.

REPORTER: Macron has warned Europe that there is almost no time left for peaceful talks. The next few days will be decisive. Washington, however, is in dire need of this war, so it keeps pouring gas on the fire.Joe Biden, in a meeting with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, said how he intended to stop Russian aggression.
Joe Biden: “If Russia invades - that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine, again, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2” - “But how will you do that exactly, since the project and control of the project is within Germany’s control?” - “We will, I promise you, we’ll be able to do it”.
REPORTER: Soon, US missile shields will appear in Ukraine, near our border. Kiev wants to install anti-missile compounds in Kharkov and thus NATO will be able to control Russian territory within a range of 1000 km. Against this background, the US continues to upsize its military contingent in Poland. Yesterday alone, in the immediate vicinity of the Ukrainian border, three groups of American paratroopers were deployed at the same time. Meanwhile, Ukraine is ready for war with Russia. Kuleba has said that in the last two months Kiev has received a thousand tons of weapons from the West. The first gunshot will be heard soon. Military exercises in Ukraine will begin this Thursday. At the same time, the accusations against us, against Moscow, are being prepared in advance. Bildt found our soldiers on the border with Ukraine. “Putin's attack on Ukraine is due any minute now” the publication said. But Kiev is forced to take desperate steps. The meeting between Zelensky and the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has been canceled, a new slap in the face for Kiev. The French foreign minister has not got to Kiev either, he refused at the last minute. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s fate was being decided elsewhere. The meeting between V. Putin and E. Macron took place in Moscow, and Biden met in Washington with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In other words, as Washington prepares Ukraine for war, to the last drop of the Ukrainian child's blood, the fate of its independence is decided in its absence. Here's the question: has Kiev's fate been decided in Moscow and Washington or not? " >>
NARRATIVES: 1. Washington is preparing Ukraine for war. 2. NATO will install missile-defense shields in Ukraine, at the border with Russia, to control the Russian territory. 3. Ukraine’s fate is being decided in its absences, in Washington and Moscow.
CONTEXT: Ukraine has recently become a central issue on the international agenda, due to the deployment of Russian troops on the Russian-Ukrainian border. This country, once very close to the Russians, has been in conflict with the Russian Federation since 2014, after the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in the Donbass region. The EU and the United States have state their strong support for Kiev, while the Kremlin has been staging a demonstration of force, demanding written guarantees from NATO that it will not accept Ukraine in its ranks and will withdraw its forces from the ex-communist states accepted after the Cold War.
Several high-level meetings have been held this week to try and ease the tension. The French leader Emanuel Macron went to Moscow on Monday and to Kiev on Tuesday, where he pleaded for a diplomatic solution to the crisis. US President Joe Biden has met with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and both have reiterated their position on the economic sanctions that will be imposed on Russia if it invades Ukraine. The German chancellor has also spoken with the French and Polish leaders.
The recent developments aside, Ukraine has been at war with Russia for 8 years. With the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula and the outbreak of separatist actions in Donbass, Russia has also been waging a very aggressive information war against Ukraine, using fake news and disinformation campaigns in all media and official television stations.
The talk show “Vremea pokajet”, launched in 2014, against the background of the events in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine, is a daily broadcast on Pervii Kanal (1 TV), the main television station in the Russian Federation. The autumn editions of 2014 discussed exclusively the events in Ukraine. The titles of some of the last week's editions: Ukraine’s fate has been decided, The war is inevitable, When will the war start?, Macron's great journey, etc. are clear examples of the main topic of discussion on that show. Pervii Kanal is broadcast in all former Soviet republics. In the Republic of Moldova, it is broadcast by the Primul station, owned by representatives of Igor Dodon’s Party of Socialists.
PURPOSE: To present Russia as a victim and the West as an aggressor that is only using Ukraine. To create justifications for the Moscow’s military mobilization. At the same time, the idea is being promoted that the great powers are, in fact, deciding the fate of Ukraine.
WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: The EU and the US are delivering weapons to Ukraine not to attack Russia, but to protect it from further Russian aggression, after the Kremlin annexed Crimea, provoked a conflict in the Russian-speaking Donbas region of Ukraine and is now supporting two separatist regimes there.
Ukraine is not a member of NATO and the Alliance cannot install missile shields in that country. On the contrary, Russia is justifying its aggressive actions using a hypothetical situation, namely that NATO could install systems on its border, and propagandistic statements that, in the event of Ukraine and Georgia's accession to the Alliance, its security would be threatened. No NATO country has ever threatened Russia, on the contrary, the Kremlin regime has taken over the aggressive political rhetoric of the USSR and wants to maintain its influence and full control in the post-Soviet states. At the same time, Putin is trying to divide the Western countries and undermine their democratic systems.
Regarding the narrative that the fate of Ukraine is decided without it being involved, in Washington and Moscow, the talks that have taken place in this context go beyond the local geographical framework, after the Kremlin amassed numerous troops and military weapons at its western border, a threat aimed, in addition to Ukraine, also at Poland or the Baltic states. Russia also has troops and supports a separatist regime in the Transnistrian region of Moldova. The West became concerned after Russia gave NATO and the US several ultimatums, which are not only about Ukraine not joining the Alliance, but concern other EU and NATO member states. The talks held this week have focused on the situation in Ukraine and coordinated together with Kiev. At the same time, they involved European and global stability stakeholders, not because the West had neglected Kiev.
