Brussels has given the go-ahead for the physical and spiritual destruction of Romania, one of the last bastions in the fight against globalism, and a blackout will be triggered in this country so that sovereigntists can be taken out. This piece of disinformation stemmed from a dialogue between Luis Lazarus and Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă. Ridden with mystical drivel, lies and elements recalling of Nazi propaganda, the narrative surfaced in response to the first “blackout” simulation organized in Romania two weeks ago in Mediaș.
NEWS: “Luis Lazarus: It is rumored “these guys” will leave us without electricity for the holidays, to punish us a little, to make fun of us. […] Here’s a message from a citizen: I’ve been living in Denmark for 34 years. I have friends who are prepared for what’s coming. The blackout in Romania will not be a local phenomenon, just to leave us in the dark, it will sweep the entire Europe. Denmark has windmills and wind power. But many of them don’t work and will be decommissioned, because what the owners are paid by the German government far exceeds the revenues they get from production. And mark my words, it’s the German government, not the Danish one, that pays them off. In Germany too, the nuclear power plant will shut down, the platforms in the North Sea are on standby most of the time. They desperately want to cause a blackout. Danish law enforcement forces have been preparing in broad daylight for breaking into people’s homes across various cities. […] Every totalitarian system has had its atrocities. Now our time has come too. […] ‘You mean, there is talk about a Europe-wide blackout that targets Romania too, and troops and people who have trained particularly for this. There you have it, they’ve seen it in Denmark, this guy tells us, people who’ve trained to go after people in their own homes. The question is: who are they going to target? Some old lady living in the countryside? Some poor guy who lives out in his workshop? No, these guys have long prepared for this and know exactly who’re going after. So, Diana, when the blackout comes, I say I’ll just jump in my car, take a couple of friends with me and head to your place.
Diana Iovanovici Șoșoacă: I don’t think you’ll be safe at my place, because 3 days ago I got someone over, who simply told me pack your stuff and go! […] He was dead serious about it and told me the exact same story about special forces trained for that. He tells me, you’re at the top of the list of people who will be taken out during the blackout. So I’m ready for anything. When Ukrainians invaded Romania, I was told watch out, these thugs will kill you for a thousand euro. I was told to keep my mouth shut about Ukrainians coming to Romania, or else they will shut me up themselves. […] The blackout is a scheduled operation. What they’re doing now is a new plandemic. The Covid social experiment continues. The 2030 agenda must be implemented. […] There can be no blackout unless someone gives the ‘lights out’ order!”
NARRATIVES: 1. The UN 2030 agenda is in fact a diabolical plan set up by a global cabal to enslave the world population. 2. Alongside other European states, Romania too will be the target of a blackout attack around the winter holidays. 3. Troublemakers who refuse to align to globalist policies will be physically taken out in the chaos generated by the blackout. 4. The global cabal plans to destroy the Caucasian race and the values it stands for, because of all the races, white people have the highest IQ.
BACKGROUND: Blackouts, more specifically large-scale power outages that affect large areas, one or several countries, are very rare occurrences, although they do happen every now and then. The reasons behind the phenomenon are diverse, such as the 2003 software error that affected northeastern United States and Ontario province in Canada, or the storm that triggered a chain malfunction in power plants in southern Brazil in 1999. Furthermore, blackouts can also be caused by shortage of fuel powering electrical power plants, which is what happened last year in Lebanon, or they can be the result of cyber-attacks such as the ones launched by the so-called Sandworm organization against Ukraine starting 2016, and there are scores of other similar examples. The idea of a massive power outage sweeping Europe has arrested public attention as early as last year, when an awareness raising campaign was launched in Austria, instructing the population how to prepare in case of a blackout that would disrupt the functioning of numerous basic services. Back then, Veridica disproved the fake news launched in connection to the Austrian government’s information campaign. However, the fake news was again rolled out into the public sphere in the context of the energy crisis caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the frequent power outages that have recently occurred in Ukraine and Moldova. In this context, Romanian authorities ran a three-day simulation, testing various scenarios linked to a possible widespread blackout in Mediaș.
PURPOSE: To promote sovereigntist and anti-Western rhetoric, to victimize supporters of these ideologies with a view to boosting approval ratings, to foster Russian propaganda themes in the context of this country’s invasion of Ukraine.
WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: The 2030 Agenda Diana Șoșoacă refers to is just a UN program addressing both developed and developing countries to an equal extent. Among other things, the agenda seeks to eradicate poverty, develop education and healthcare as well as boost the development of peaceful and inclusive societies. The agenda makes no mention of the digital concentration camp invoked by Diana Șoșoacă and her interlocutor.
The idea that Romania might be the target of “globalists” and Brussels is absurd if one considers that Bucharest has for years been observing EU and NATO policies. To a great extent, Romanian economy is integrated into global markets, while our country’s labor force enjoys freedom of movement to find better paid jobs outside the country. Moreover, the fact that Bucharest simultaneously plays host to three meetings – the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting, the Munich Security Conference and the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting – is telling evidence in this respect
As regards the planned blackout, so far no European authority or official has warned against an imminent or inevitable blackout at EU level, nor have they predicted the scale or length of such an incident. Both European and local authorities simply say the possibility of a blackout should be “taken into consideration”.
Estimating threats to national security, preparing for possible crises and preventing them are routine practices in many states, so that various institutions, authorities and the population should know how to respond in such events and what they have to do. Terrorism, natural disasters, large-scale cyber-attacks, the collapse of strategic infrastructure, etc. are threats/risks that are usually accounted for when taking the proper precautions. For instance, Romania regularly hosts drills preparing for major earthquakes, while the authorities run awareness raising campaigns informing the population what to do in the case of such a disaster. In a nutshell, it’s all about developing preparedness and being able to mount a swift and effect response in cases of extreme necessity.
Further analyzing the rhetoric used by the two speakers, we very well know that getting rid of troublemakers is actually common practice in autocracies, which senator Șoșoacă claims to be on the side of justice. In fact, Diana Ivanovici Șoșoacă doesn’t provide any evidence to substantiate her claims.
The remainder of the marathon-dialogue spanning over 3 hours brings Nazi propaganda themes up for discussion (They’ve measured the IQ of every people in the world. Who do you think has the highest IQ? The population of Europe. White people. It’s about destroying the European Caucasian race.), well-known disinformation narratives of Russian origin, as well as endemic mystical conspiracy theories, without naming real sources for any of the information provided. Contrary to the absurd arguments presented by the independent senator, no study has so far confirmed the supremacy of the white race. Similarly, nor does the high IQ of the Romanian people have any sound foundation. One argument disproving these theories is the calamitous state of the Romanian education system, which paradoxically, is also invoked by senator Diana Șoșoacă.
