Two years of war in Ukraine

February 24, 2022. Russia invades Ukraine on several fronts: Russian President Vladimir Putin announces the launch of a military operation in Donbas following the request for support made by the leaders of the two separatist republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. Putin claims civilians in Donbas must be protected and complains, again, that the West has not responded to the security requests made by Russia, which included guarantees that Ukraine would not be accepted into NATO.
