FAKE NEWS: The zombie apocalypse is coming in 2021, but humanity will be saved by robot people and the Church

Sputnik attributes to Nostradamus prophecies that “confirm” conspiracy theories, modern false narratives and risks taken into consideration by scientists.

The zombie apocalypse

The end of humanity may be nearer than we think. A scientist will one day make a biological weapon, a virus, which will turn people into zombies.

Global famine

The first signs of the end of the world in 2021 will be famine, earthquakes, viruses and epidemics. The coronavirus pandemic is just the tip of the iceberg, triggering a string of tragic events. The world tragedy will bring people back to the past, and most of the population will suffer from curses.

Solar storms

A multitude of solar storms will cause great damage to all life forms on the planet. The disastrous consequences of climate change will cause wars and conflicts, and the fight for resources and survival will start all over the world.

An asteroid will hit the Earth

According to the prophet's writings, a giant asteroid will hit Earth. Once in the atmosphere, it will heat up so much that the sky will be engulfed in flames.

Soldiers will be implanted chips

Chips will be implanted in the heads of US soldiers, and so they will become the first human-robots with high digital intelligence and will start saving humanity.

The Church, a lifeboat

It doesn't matter how long Pope Francis remains the leader of the Catholics, he will leave behind a huge legacy and bring a large number of people closer to the church. "

NARRATIVES: 1. A virus created in a laboratory, as a biological weapon, will endanger humanity. 2. Chips will be implanted in people. 3. The church will become more and more important

CONTEXT: Russia has often been accused of being behind false narrative campaigns and of encouraging / promoting / initiating even various conspiracy theories. This is also true of the coronavirus pandemic: The Russian Federation has been behind a wide-ranging disinformation campaign ever since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, documented by the media and debunking portals and denounced by officials and the de European External Action Service. Sputnik frequently appears among the channels used to spread false narratives about the pandemic, and its Romanian version has promoted characters who were involved from the very beginning in protests by those who denied the existence / risks of the coronavirus. Among the most commonly promoted theories about SARS-CoV-2 is that it is a laboratory-created virus, a biological weapon.

The idea of a virus created in a laboratory appears in lots of books and movies about a zombie apocalypse, some of the most popular being  28 Days Later and World War Z.

The conspiracy theory regarding the implantation of microchips is also old, but it has been revitalized and adapted after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, one of the versions, debunked here, being that Bill Gates intends to implant chips in people. Beyond these conspiracy theories, the list attributed by Sputnik to Nostradamus seems to be a true review of apocalyptic scenarios whose possibility has been considered by scientists and / or Hollywood screenwriters, but which are extremely unlikely - the impact of an asteroid, earthquakes, global warming. All these elements, attributed in the Sputnik material to Nostradamus, also appear in articles published by British tabloids in late December. Express.co.uk  claims, though, that the chipped soldiers are Chinese, while mirror.co.uk has a more similar approach to Sputnik’s. Both tabloids seem to use as source  yearly-horoscope.org (Mirror actually quotes the site). Yearly-horoscope has also launched the idea of getting closer to the church through Pope Francis, but again, the narrative of a large and powerful Church fits the ideology cultivated in recent years by Moscow and its foreign political satellites, which have sought to oppose religious conservatism to the rights and freedoms of democratic societies (promoting, for example, the concept of Gayropa).

PURPOSE: To disseminate narratives that can undermine the image of the West and of the pro-West police forces.

WHY THE NARRATIVES ARE FALSE: Nostradamus was not a prophet (it has been shown that there is no evidence that at least one of his quatrains predicts a future event, and it’s just a matter of interpretations made later), natural disasters are only hypothetical events, the virus was not created in a laboratory, there are no chip implantation programs, etc.

THE NARRATIVES BENEFIT: the Kremlin
